Following theearthquake wave that hitEmilia Romagna in 2012, a special technical structure was created at the Region’s Offices in Bologna, delegated to oversee the organization of reconstruction of damaged public places and for the completion of works for the management of evacuees.
For both situations, New House participated in the tenders called on urgent grounds and with very tight implementation periods. The first of New House ‘s awards was for the reconstruction of damaged school buildings in the province of Modena to allow the school year to continue. The award saw the construction of prefabricated schools, including two-story ones, totaling about 3,000 square meters.
The M1 Series modular prefabs that were used were developed in accordance with the customizations and configurations requested by the client. The prefabricated monoblocks were equipped with 80 mm-thick mineral wool insulated walls , with fiberglass quadrotto suspended ceilings, porcelain tile flooring, air conditioning, and electrical systems.
The premises included classrooms, teachers’ rooms, restrooms, classrooms for school staff, and large canteen rooms. The two-story complex was equipped with electrical systems and capillary distributed cooling/heating systems. The resulting environment was amply appreciated by the client, who repeatedly emphasized the functionality of the rooms and the speed of installation , and was promptly started to minimize the suspension of classes due to theemergency caused by the earthquake.
